It competitively and rapidly binds LFA-1 on T-lymphocytes, blocking interaction with ICAM-1, which inhibits crucial inflammatory processes like T-cell adhesion, migration, activation, and pro-inflammatory cytokine release (e.g., IFN-γ, TNF-α). This action downregulates T-cell activation signaling and inflammatory gene expression, producing targeted anti-inflammatory effects.
