Coelenterazine 400a

Coelenterazine 400a (CTZ400a), a derivative of coelenterazine, serves as a time-sensitive substrate with moderate bioluminescence quantum yield for Renilla reniformis luciferase (RLuc) and its variants. However, it exhibits poor oxidation efficiency with Gaussia luciferase (GLuc). Due to its emission maximum of approximately 400 nm, CTZ400a is the preferred substrate for Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer (BRET) as it minimally interferes with GFP emission. This property enhances signal resolution, making Coelenterazine-400a a valuable tool for real-time studies of protein-protein interactions in live cells. Additionally, Coelenterazine400a is an efficient and suitable substrate for the luminescence reaction of nanoKAZ.
