LDM

LDM is a cell penetrant lipid droplets fluorescent probe that selectively visualize the neutral lipid core of lipid droplets (LDs). LDM is activated by the HClO/ClO- present in the lipid droplets microenvironment to generate LDM-OH which selectively visualizes lipid droplet (LD) membrane by binding to LD associated proteins through electrostatic interactions. The HClO/ClO- activation transforms the green fluorescent pro-probe LDM (emission at 522 nm) to a red fluorescent LDM-OH (far-red emission at 637 nm). Also LDM (DCOH-FR-OCl) can be effectively utilized in the real-time imaging of endogenous and exogenous OCl- in living cells.
