一般描述
基因 EGF（表皮生长因子）定位于人染色体 4q25-27。EGF 基因编码大的I型膜锚定前体蛋白，其被切割成 pro-EGF以产生肽激素EGF。mRNA在肾、唾液腺、大脑和前列腺中表达。重组人EGF是一种 6.2kDa 球状蛋白，含有53个氨基酸残基，包括 3个分子内二硫键。
应用
EGF（表皮生长因子）人已经在培养基中用于维持 MCF10A细胞（人乳腺上皮细胞）。
生化/生理作用
EGF（表皮生长因子）是一种有效的生长因子，可刺激各种表皮和上皮细胞的增殖。另外，EGF已表现出抑制胃分泌并参与伤口愈合的作用。EGF通过称为c-erbB的受体发出信号，该受体是I 类酪氨酸激酶受体。该受体还与TGF（转化生长因子）-α和VGF（痘苗病毒生长因子）结合。EGF 基因的突变可能与非小细胞肺腺癌的风险相关。它还涉及甲状腺未分化癌和肾性低镁血症。它控制细胞分化和神经营养过程。

制备说明
开盖前先离心试剂管。 在水中重悬至浓度为0.1-1.0mg/ml。 不要涡旋。 该溶液可在2-8℃ 下储存，长达 1 周。 要长期储存，建议在含有稳定剂（例如5％ 海藻糖）的缓冲液中进一步稀释，并在-20°C至-80°C，以工作等分试样储存。
