General description
表皮生长因子（EGF）是一种有效的生长因子，可刺激各种表皮和上皮细胞的增殖。编码该蛋白的基因定位于小鼠3号染色体。重组鼠EGF是一种6.2kDa球状蛋白，含有53个氨基酸残基，包括3个分子内二硫键。
Biochem/physiol Actions
表皮生长因子（EGF）已表现出抑制胃分泌并参与伤口愈合的作用。EGF通过称为c-erbB的受体发出信号，该受体是I 类酪氨酸激酶受体。该受体还与转化生长因子-α（TGF-α）和VGF（痘苗病毒生长因子）结合。已显示向新生和成年大鼠注射EGF会诱发与精神分裂症有关的神经行为缺陷。

Preparation Note
打开样品瓶之前需离心。 在水中重悬至浓度为 0.5-1.0mg/ml。不可涡旋。 该溶液可在2-8°C下储存长达1周。 为了延长储存时间，建议可在含有载体蛋白（如0.1％ BSA）的缓冲液中进行进一步的稀释，并分装冻存在-20℃至-80℃下。
