Biochem/physiol Actions
BRCC2 or BH3-like motif containing, cell death inducer acts as a tumor suppressor by modulating the AKT8 virus oncogene cellular homolog (Akt) pathway in breast cancer tissue. It associates with Bcl-2 long isoform (BCL-XL). BRCC2 also stimulates the caspase-dependent mitochondrial cell death pathway.
