Disks large-associated protein 2 (UniProt: Q13546; also known as DAP-2, PSD-95/SAP90-binding protein 2, SAP90/PSD-95-associated protein 2, SAPAP2) is encoded by the DLGAP2 (also known as C8orf68, DAP2, ERICH1-AS1) gene (Gene ID: 9228) in human. The DLGAP gene family comprises 4 members, including DLGAP1, 2, 3, and 4. DLGAP2 is a peripheral membrane protein that is expressed in brain and kidney. It is a critical component of the postsynaptic density involved in regulating synaptic function and dendritic spine morphology. It plays a role in synapse organization and signaling in neuronal cells. It also serves as an adapter protein linking ion channel to the subsynaptic cytoskeleton. Lower cortical expression of DLGAP2 have been linked with cognitive decline and Alzheimer s dementia and is associated with more plaques and tangles. Three different isoforms of DLGAP2 have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:10,000 dilution of this antibody detected DLGAP2/DAP2 in Raji cell lysate.

Tested applications

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected DLGAP2/DAP2 in human kidney and human colon tissue sections.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected DLGAP2/DAP2 in MCF-7 cells.

Clone 2K11 is a ZooMAb^® Rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Disks large-associated protein 2 (DLGAP2). It targets an epitope within 21 amino acids from the internal region.

Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.

Reconstitute lyophilized antibody pellet with 25μL of ultrapure water or Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS). Please refer to our reconstitution protocol and the specific application guidance on the suggested starting dilutions and sample type.
