Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected NDRG1 in COS-7 cell lysate.

Tested applications

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected NDRG1 in human kidney and human prostate tissue sections.

Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound NDRG1 peptide with a KD of 3.9 x 10-6 in an affinity binding assay.

Clone 1C11 is a ZooMAb^® Rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects NDRG1. It targets an epitope within 15 amino acids from the C-terminal region.

Protein NDRG1 (UniProt: Q92597; also known as Differentiation-related gene 1 protein, DRG-1, N-myc downstream-regulated gene 1 protein, Nickel-specific induction protein Cap43, Reducing agents and tunicamycin-responsive protein, RTP) is encoded by the NDRG1 (also known as CAP43, DRG1, RTP) gene (Gene ID: 10397) in human. NDRG1 is a stress-responsive protein that is induced under a wide variety of stress and cell growth-regulatory conditions. It is ubiquitously expressed but the most prominent expression is observed in placental membranes, prostate, kidney, small intestine, and ovary tissues. It is mainly a cytoplasmic protein, but is differentially localized to other regions. NDRG1 is reported to be up-regulated by cell differentiation signals in various cancer cell lines and also suppresses tumor metastasis. It is reported to play different roles in metastatic versus non-metastatic cells. It suppresses cell growth and proliferation in the metastatic H1299-NDRG1 cells, but does not have any effect on the non-metastatic DLD-1-NDRG1 cells. It is induced about 20-fold during in vitro differentiation of the colon carcinoma cell lines HT-29-D4 and Caco-2 cells. NDRG1 is shown to be essential, but not sufficient for p53/TP53-mediated caspase activation and apoptosis. It is also shown to have a role in cell trafficking of Schwann cells and is necessary for the maintenance and development of the peripheral nerve myelin sheath. NDRG1 is phosphorylated by several protein kinases, including PKA, PKC, and CaMK II. It is also phosphorylated by SGK1 on many serine and threonine residues in the C-terminal region, which is temporally and spatially controlled during the cell cycle. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.

Reconstitute lyophilized antibody pellet with 25μL of ultrapure water or Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS). Please refer to our reconstitution protocol and the specific application guidance on the suggested starting dilutions and sample type.
