Interleukin-2 (UniProt: P60568; also known as T-cell growth factor (TCGF), Aldesleukin) is encoded by the IL2 gene (Gene ID: 3558) in human. Interleukin-2 (IL-2) Cytokine produced by activated CD4-positive helper T-cells and to a lesser extend activated CD8-positive T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells. IL-2 plays a crucial role in regulating the growth, activation, and differentiation of various immune cells. IL-2 consists of a four-helix bundle and belongs to the four-helix cytokine family. It interacts with specific receptors on the surface of target cells, initiating signaling pathways that lead to immune cell activation and proliferation. IL-2 supports the growth and survival of T cells. It acts as a growth factor for T cells and stimulates their differentiation into effector cells, such as cytotoxic T cells and regulatory T cells. IL-2 also enhances the production of other cytokines and promotes the development of long-lasting immune responses. IL-2 is produced by various immune cells, including activated T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. Its expression is tightly regulated and can be induced by immune activation and antigen stimulation. IL-2 expression levels can vary depending on the immune cell type, activation status, and surrounding microenvironment. IL-2 plays a critical role in numerous immune-related diseases and conditions. For example, deficiencies or dysregulation of IL-2 signaling can lead to immune dysfunction and result in autoimmune disorders, immunodeficiency diseases, and certain types of cancers. Quality Control Testing

Evaluated by Western Blotting using recombinant human Interleukin-2.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected recombinant human Interleukin-2.

Tested Applications

Affinity Binding Assay: The binding affinity of this antibody to Interleukin-2 peptide was at least one thousand-fold (1,000X) higher than that obtained with the non-specific control peptide.

Flow Cytometry Analysis: 1 µg from a representative lot detected Interleukin-2 in Jurkat cells.

Clone 1F22-L2 is a ZooMAb^® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects Interleukin-2. It targets an epitope within 17 amino acids from the internal part of the protein.

Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.

Reconstitute lyophilized antibody pellet with 25μL of ultrapure water or Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS). Please refer to our reconstitution protocol and the specific application guidance on the suggested starting dilutions and sample type.
