Quality Control Testing
Evaluated by Western Blotting in Jurkat cell lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:10,000 dilution of this antibody detected CD1a in Jurkat cell lysate.
Tested Applications
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:10,000 dilution from a representative lot detected CD1a in lysate from MOLT-4 cells.
Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound with CD1a peptide at least ten million-fold (10,000,000X) higher affinity than with non-specific control peptide.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected CD1a in MOLT-4 cells.
Flow Cytometry Analysis: 0.1 µg from a representative lot detected CD1a in one million Jurkat cells.

T-cell surface glycoprotein CD1a (UniProt: P06126; also known as T-cell surface antigen T6/Leu-6 (hTa1 thymocyte antigen), CD1a) is encoded by the CD1A gene (Gene ID: 909) in human. CD1a is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the CD1 family of antigen-presenting molecules. These are evolutionary conserved proteins which present lipids instead of peptide. CD1a is composed of a heavy chain that forms a binding groove for lipid antigens, associated with a β2-microglobulin light chain. CD1a plays a crucial role in the presentation of lipid antigens to T cells, particularly to a subset of T cells known as natural killer T (NKT) cells. It helps bridge innate and adaptive immunity by presenting non-peptidic antigens, thus activating T cells and promoting immune responses against certain pathogens. CD1a is primarily expressed on the surface of dendritic cells, thymocytes, and certain subsets of T cells. Its expression is particularly prominent during the early stages of T cell development in the thymus, as well as in peripheral tissues involved in immune responses. Alterations in CD1a expression and function have been associated with various diseases, including autoimmune disorders and infections. In conditions such as psoriasis, CD1a expression is upregulated, contributing to the inflammatory response. Additionally, its role in lipid antigen presentation makes it relevant in the context of certain infections and cancers, where CD1a may influence immune evasion and tumor progression. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.

Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
