General description

Methapyrilene is an H1-receptor antihistamine that is known to cause periportal hepatic necrosis following acute high dose administration to the rat subjects in in vitro studies carried out for the identification of mutagens and/or carcinogens.

Application

Methapyrilene HCl may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in animal feed, human urine and wastewater by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC) techniques.
