General description

维生素B12是一种存在于奶制品、蛋、鱼和肉等中的膳食来源水溶性维生素。维生素B12又称氰钴铵素，可与蛋白转钴胺素进行结合。维生素B12在结构上具有两个吡咯环。这两种形式包括甲钴胺或5-脱氧腺苷钴胺，它们是生物可利用的。

Biochem/physiol Actions

维生素B12在DNA合成和甲基化蛋白中起关键作用。其内因子对于循环和重吸收是必需的。维生素B12与叶酸可在红细胞的合成以及维持铁水平方面起到协同作用。它对于细胞能量的产生是必需的，并可作为L-甲基丙二酰-CoA变位酶和蛋氨酸合酶的辅因子。维生素B12的缺乏可导致恶性贫血、巨幼细胞性贫血和神经管缺陷。
