Introduction

The Hibar^® RT is a traditional, ready-to-use HPLC column designed for easy incorporation into analytical workflows. It has threaded ends that allow for easy connection to capillaries via reducers, providing reliability across a wide range of applications.

The Hibar^® RT HPLC column hardware is available for Purospher^® columns, Purospher^® STAR columns, LiChrospher^® columns, Superspher^® columns, ChiraDex^® columns, LiChrosorb^® columns, and for customized products on demand.

Guard cartridges can be connected to the analytical column in two ways:

1. With a pre-column holder for 4-4 LiChroCART^® cartridges for direct coupling to Hibar^® RT column
2. With a separate guard column holder 4-4 LiChroCART^® cartridges for capillary connection. This option is suitable for Hibar^® RT columns as well as any other analytical HPLC column

Mounting a LiChroCART^® 4-4 guard-column with direct connection to a Hibar^® RT HPLC column

1. Remove the endfitting of the Hibar^® RT columns at the inlet side of the column (in front of flow direction).
2. Screw the holder with seat for the pre-column (1.51487.0001) onto the Hibar^® RT column and tighten with tool to avoid leaking.
3. Fit the LiChroCART^® 4-4 guard-column into the holder seat.
4. Fit the endfitting of the holder and tighten with tool to avoid leaking.
