General description

与微管相关的 LC3A 构成了与脑微管共纯化的所有与微管相关的蛋白质的近一半。LC3A 由重链和多个轻链亚基组成。自噬所必需的分子机制在所有的真核生物中都是高度保守的，这是因为自噬体膜形成过程中蛋白质的高度保守。最近，酵母 Apg8p 及其大鼠同系物 LC3-II 被鉴定为自噬体膜的加工形式必需成分。此外，酵母和人蛋白质均以两种修饰形式存在，这些修饰形式是由一系列翻译后修饰产生的，包括在保守的 Gly 残基后关键的 C 末端裂解，较小的加工形式与自噬体膜有关。结果表明，LC3-II 的三种人同工型具有不同的调节作用，可能具有不同的生理功能。在各种细胞中经翻译后产生两种形式的 LC3A，称为 LC3-I 和 -II。LC3-I 是胞质的，而 LC3-II 是膜结合的。LC3-II 是第一个被鉴定与自噬体膜特异性结合的哺乳动物蛋白质。
