Dr. Tim M. Jaeger is Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer for the Life Science business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany
(and/or its affiliates). Together with his team, he pursues a holistic approach to the business’s strategic planning and execution, mergers and acquisitions, integrations, and change management. Further to that, he is responsible for integrating key 21st century differentiators, such as data, analytics, and sustainability, across objectives, plans, and ways of working. Jaeger works in close partnership with business and corporate functions to ensure that Life Science is anticipating future developments, now – to better lead the next growth horizon.

Jaeger has diverse experience in executive and senior executive roles, boards, and advisory positions and his expertise spans strategy, business development, new technologies, and organizational leadership.

Prior to his current role, Jaeger served for nearly 20 years in various senior leadership positions at Roche. He delivered above-market growth for established and new businesses in corporate, regional, and affiliate environments. Most recently, as Global Customer Area Head at Roche Information Solutions, Jaeger led the development and launch of a comprehensive digital product portfolio. Before, overseeing their Diagnostics Information Solutions business, he established a global organization for data, analytics, and software, introducing new capabilities and ushering in a mindset shift. He led the delivery of key strategic programs for various organizational entities, obtained approval for implementation, and achieved roll-out commitments. Additionally, he was responsible for executing successful deals and integrations, as well as the launch of accelerator / incubator platforms and partner ecosystems for portfolio expansion. Jaeger also initiated their Diagnostics’ Chief Medical Office and contributed to the Groups sustainability efforts. He has worked and lived in Europe, Asia, and the US.

He is a trained physician and started his career working in clinical medicine, academic research, and start-ups. He received his MD and PhD from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and an MBA in healthcare management from Purdue University in the US.
