Tim M. Jaeger is the Head of Transformation for the Life Science business of Merck. He leads transformation initiatives to unlock new opportunities for employees and stakeholders, focusing on optimizing internal structures, processes, and governance, and driving strategy execution to foster customer-centricity and guide our organization toward future success.
Tim has diverse experience in executive and senior executive roles, boards, and advisory positions, and his expertise spans strategy, business development, new technologies, and organizational leadership. He believes in empowering people to turn pioneering ideas into innovative solutions with market impact.
As Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer for the Life Science business, he led the development and implementation of the Life Science strategy, overseeing strategic planning and execution, business development, integrations, and change management. He established and shaped the cross-functional approach for Integrated Business Management and ERP programs, driving greater alignment, efficiency and data-driven decision-making across the business. Together with his team, he ensured that key differentiators such as data, analytics, and sustainability were embedded across business objectives and operations.
Prior to joining the company, Jaeger spent nearly 20 years in various senior leadership positions at Roche, where he delivered above-market growth for established and new businesses in corporate, regional, and affiliate environments. Jaeger launched a comprehensive digital product portfolio and established a global organization for data, analytics, and software He also led key strategic programs, executed successful M&A and integrations, launched accelerator and incubator platforms, and contributed to the Groups sustainability efforts.
He has worked and lived in Europe, Asia, and the US.
He is a trained physician and started his career working in clinical medicine, academic research, and start-ups. He received his MD and PhD from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and an MBA in healthcare management from Purdue University in the US.
