General description

Cesium nitrate (CsNO3) is a class of perovskite based ferroelectric material that can be used as a highly efficient, nontoxic catalyst for the conversion of ketones and aldehydes to dihydroperoxides.

Application

CsNO3 can be used in a variety of lithium batteries such as lithium sulfur battery and lithium oxygen battery.
Used in the synthesis of cesium nitratocuprate, Cs2[Cu(NO3)4], which crystallizes in a square-planar coordination around the Cu center.
