General description

A cell-permeable steroidal alkaloid similar to cyclopamine (Cat. No. 239803) that displays teratogenic effects and induces cyclopia by blocking shh (Sonic Hedgehog) signaling (IC50 = ~ 500-700 nM in s12 cells). Tomatidine (Cat. No. 614350) serves as a suitable negative control.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cell permeable: yes
Primary Target
Induces cyclopia by blocking shh (Sonic Hedgehog) signaling
Product does not compete with ATP.
Reversible: no
Target IC50: ~ 500-700 nM blocking shh (Sonic Hedgehog) signaling in s12 cells

Packaging

Packaged under inert gas

Preparation Note

Following reconstitution in fresh DMSO, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at -20°C.
Slight warming may be required to achieve complete solubilization in ethanol.
