Supplied as a 3 M aqueous solution, treated with DEPC for use in RNA applicatons. Also suitable for DNA applications. Sodium acetate is widely used in molecular biology applications as a buffer and in the purification and precipitation of nucleic acids, protein crystallization, staining of protein gels, and HPLC.
