General description
Gustducin alpha-3 chain is a G protein alpha subunit of the taste receptors and it plays a critical role in bitter, sweet and umami (MSG) taste transduction. Gustducin alpha-3 chain operates via the cGMP-phosphodiesterase signaling pathway and is mediated with calcium. Gustducin alpha-3 chain also functions in lumenal sugar sensors in the gut and may modulate the gut capacity to absorb sugars and thus play roles in malabsorption syndromes and diet related disorders including diabetes type II and obesity. Gustducin alpha-3 chain is localized to the cytoplasm and plasmalemmal being a G protein subunit. Gustducin alpha-3 chain is expressed in tastebuds and in the gut in enteroendocrine L cells, and surprisingly in spermatozoa.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Gustducin alpha-3 chain near the C-terminal.
Application
Anti-Gustducin alpha-3 chain Antibody is an antibody against Gustducin alpha-3 chain for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50-250 dilution from a representative lot detected Gustducin alpha-3 chain in human ileum and rat testis tissue.
Analysis Note
Evaluated by Western Blotting in human tongue tissue lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: 0.5 ug/mL of this antibody detected Gustducin alpha-3 chain in 10 ug of human tongue tissue lysate.
