General description
Filter Code: LCWG
Mitex™ PTFE Membrane is unaffected by almost all liquids, including organic solvents, concentrated acids and bases, propellants, and cryogenic fluids. Mitex™ membrane is unbacked, yet is easy to handle, combining the convenience of a backed membrane with the versatility of a pure PTFE membrane. Mitex™ membrane is hydrophobic.

We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which have been re-engineered to enable more sustainable research solutions. The inner & outer boxes containing the membrane discs are made from bio-circular material allocated using the ISCC mass balance approach. Click here for more information.
Application
- Clarifying acids, bases and cryogenic fluids
- Clarifying propellants
- Isolating RNA
- Air monitoring
Mitex™ Membrane Filter has been used in the ammonium diffusion method to measure the 15N atom percentage excess of NH4+ and NO3 in soil extracts. It has also been used in horizontal infiltration experiments using unsaturated sand columns.
Features and Benefits
- Broad chemical compatibility
- Biologically and chemically inert
- Stable at temperatures in excess of 260 ºC (500 °F) and below -100 ºC (-148 ºF)*
