General description

Silane-Prep Slides are microscope slides coated with silane (aminoalkysilane) to improve the adhesion of tissues to the slide for immunohistochemistry. The slide includes a "frosted end" for slide/patient identification. It is not tested for use in microarray assays.

Application

Silane-Prep Slides have been used in:
  • Immunofluorescence microscopy of DNA fibers.
  • Immunohistochemistry.
  • The determination of hybridization stringency.
  • To prepare DNA fiber spreads in the study of abasic site formation in DNA replication.
  • For DNA stretching in the study of novel fluorescent dyes for Single DNA Molecule Techniques.
