Application
RPMI 8226 has been used:
- to grow human myeloma cell lines
- to evaluate the effect of 1-aryl-2-methylthioimidazolines (IIV) on the viability of RPMI 8226 cells
- to measure cytokine production by bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) after contact with the RPMI 8226 cell line
Biochem/physiol Actions
Derived from the peripheral blood of a 61 year old male with multiple myeloma. The cells produce and secrete Ig lambda light chain.
