Gene Information
rabbit ... XRN1(54464)
Immunogen
The epitope recognized by PLA0105 maps to a region between residue 1650 and the C-terminus (residue 1706) of human 5′-3′ Exoribonuclease 1 using the numbering given in TrEMBL entry Q6MZS8 (GeneID 54464).
Physical form
Tris-citrate/phosphate buffer, pH 7 to 8 containing 0.09% Sodium Azide
Other Notes
5′-3′ exoribonuclease 1 (XRN1) is a ribonuclease localized in the cytoplasm that functions in mRNA metabolism and is found in messenger ribonucleoprotein (mRNP) complexes. The mouse and yeast homologs of XRN1 are Dhm2 and SEP1 respectively. In a glial cell line, XRN1 is induced by glial cell line–derived growth factor (GDNF) and associates with microtubules. XRN1 has also been identified as a candidate tumor suppressor gene in osteogenic sarcoma.

Decapping is the first committed step in 5'-to-3' RNA decay, and in the cytoplasm of human cells, multiple decapping enzymes regulate the stabilities of distinct subsets of cellular transcripts. However, the complete set of RNAs regulated by any individual decapping

Proteogenomic identification of translated small open reading frames in humans has revealed thousands of microproteins, or polypeptides of fewer than 100 amino acids, that were previously invisible to geneticists. Hundreds of microproteins have been shown to be essential for cell
