General description
Anti-NRF2 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total NRF2 protein.
NRF2 (nuclear factor, erythroid 2 like 2) gene is mapped to human chromosome 2q31.2. The encoded protein is localized to dendritic cells. It belongs to the cap ′n′ collar (CNC) family of transcription factors.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Nrf2.
Immunogen Range: 556-605
Immunogen Range: 556-605
Application
Anti-NRF2, C-Terminal antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting analysis.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Nrf2 (nuclear factor, erythroid 2 like 2) is involved in the regulation of anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory response. The protein encoded is a transcription factor that binds to the antioxidant response element of the target gene. In response to oxidative stress, Nrf2 upregulates the enzymes associated with detoxification, anti-inflammation, cytoprotection and antioxidative pathways. Nrf2 affects glucose metabolism and ROS (reactive oxygen species) homeostasis in cancer cells by regulating the pentose phosphate pathway. Thus, Nrf2 is known to contribute to the development of cancer by promoting cell proliferation.

It has been reported that oxidative stress plays a prominent role in diabetic macrovascular diseases. 3,4‑Dihydroxyacetophenone (3,4‑DHAP) has been found to have a variety of biological activities. However, few studies have assessed the antioxidant capacity of 3,4‑DHAP and the underlying

Glucocorticoids (GCs) exert a therapeutic effect in numerous chronic inflammatory diseases. However, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) tends to be GC-resistant. Icariin, a major component of flavonoids isolated from Epimedium brevicornum Maxim (Berberidaceae), significantly relieves symptoms in patients with COPD.
