General description

Eltoprazine, a serotonergic agent, possesses specific anti-aggressive (serenic) properties in various animal models without triggering sedation, motor disturbances, or muscle relaxation.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Eltoprazine hyrochloride is a serotonin 5-HT1A/1B receptor agonist that has been shown to reduce L-DOPA-induced dyskinesias in in experimental models of Parkinson′s Disease and in human patients. It has Ki values for 5-HT1A, 5-HT1B and 5-HT1C receptors of 40 nM and 52 nM, respectively.
