Evaluated by Immunocytochemistry in A431 cell line.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution of this antibody detected Interferon -2 in A431 cells.

Tested applications

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Interferon -2 in U937 cell lysate.

Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound Interferon -2 with a KD of 8.4 x 10-9 in an affinity binding assay.

Enzyme Immunoassay Analysis: A representative lot of this antibody detected recombinant human Interferon -2 in ELISA application.

Clone 1E13 is a ZooMAb^® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Interferon -2. It targets an epitope within 10 amino acids from the C-terminal region.

Interferon alpha-2 (UniProt: P01563; also known as IFN-alpha-2, Interferon alpha-A, LeIF A) is encoded by the IFNA2 (also known as IFNA2A, IFNA2B, IFNA2C) gene (Gene ID: 3440) in human. Interferons are divided into three families (type I, II, and III) based on their sequence homology. Type I is the largest group that includes Interferons and β are the primary defensive cytokines against pathogens and display strong antiviral activities. They also display anti-bacterial and anti-cancer properties. IFN- is rapidly induced and secreted by cells to limit virus replication through numerous and varied mechanisms, including the induction of intrinsic restriction factors. IFN- 2 is produced by macrophages with a signal peptide (aa 1-23), which is subsequently cleaved off to generate the mature active form. It is produced in response to viral infection and triggers the induction of protective genes that inhibit viral replication and impede viral dissemination. It is shown to be an effective agent against hepatitis viruses. Chronic administration of IFN- 2 is shown to cause the regression of vascular neoplasms, including hemangiomas, Kaposi′s sarcoma, and pulmonary hemangiomatosis. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.

Reconstitute lyophilized antibody pellet with 25μL of ultrapure water or Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS). Please refer to our reconstitution protocol and the specific application guidance on the suggested starting dilutions and sample type.
