trans-p-Coumaric acid (4-hydroxycinnamic acid) is the trans isomer of p-coumaric acid, a hydroxycinnamic phenolic acid widely distributed in plants and foods. It occurs in plant tissues (including as a constituent of cutin) and has reported antioxidant and antimicrobial activities relevant to food quality and health research.
