ABSTRACT

The scientific literary data on the microbiological transformation and degradation of pyridine, methylpyridines (picolines), dimethylpyridines (lutidines) and some ethylpyridines are summarized and analysed in this review. These highly toxic compounds are on the one hand the raw materials for medicinal preparation production with microorganisms, on the other hand they are industrial wastes polluting the environment which may be degraded microbiologically.
