12-巯基十二烷酸（MDA）是羧酸末端硫醇，可在多种表面上形成自组装单层（SAM）。发挥阻断作用，固定表面原子。
Application
MDA 可使金纳米颗粒官能化，从而形成丝网印刷电极，进行电化学检测。也可与硒化镉（CdSe）量子点（ODs）形成配体，沉积在基于氧化二钛（TiO2）的薄膜上。
该化合物可用于产生亲水性SAM。所产生的羧酸封端单层膜可以进一步官能化，从而引入更复杂的端基。用于研究分子结构对铜结合αω巯基链烷酸“分子尺”叠堆精度的影响。
