溴甲酚紫又称二溴-o-甲酚磺酞,是一种酸性染料,属于酞和磺酞类染料。在pH 5.2-6.8时,染料由黄色变为紫色。该染料的单钠盐水中溶解度为8%,乙醇中溶解度为2%。溴甲酚紫在碱性条件下,会形成亲水的中等大小紫色二价阴离子。
Application
溴甲酚紫被广泛用作追踪淋巴系统中液体扩散的重要染色剂。此外,该染料适用于区分死或活的酵母细胞。作为pH指示剂,溴甲酚紫被用于微生物培养基中,肉汤培养基和琼脂培养基均可使用。 在分析实验中也可使用溴甲酚紫,比如对醋酸纤维素电泳膜上的碳酸酐酶同工酶进行染色。
