An internal standard for Carisoprodol testing or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, pain prescription monitoring or forensic analysis. Carisoprodol is a skeletal muscle relaxant sold under the trade names Soma® and Sanoma. The drug is abused recreationally, often for its heavy sedating, relaxant, and anxiolytic effects.

- Simultaneous Determination in Human Plasma: A study presented a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method in polarity switch mode for simultaneous determination of carisoprodol and aspirin in human plasma. This method is crucial for pharmacokinetic studies and can be applied to clinical drug-drug interaction studies, offering insights into the bioavailability and metabolism of carisoprodol when co-administered with aspirin (Sreenivasulu et al., 2013).
