General description
白介素-18（UniProt: Q14116；又称为IL-18, Iboctadekin，干扰素γ诱导因子、IFN-γ-诱导因子、白介素-1 γ、IL-1 γ）通过IL18（又称为IGIF、IL1F4）基因（基因ID：3606）编码。IL-18是一种促炎细胞因子，可引起先天和获得性反应。它由一个前肽(aa 1-36)合成，随后被半胱天蛋白酶1和4切割，产生活性的成熟形式。据报道，IL-18在单核细胞、巨噬细胞、上皮细胞、成骨细胞、角化细胞和滑膜成纤维细胞中组成性表达。它在肾上腺皮质细胞中的表达也有报道。成熟的IL-18通过与IL-18受体α(IL-18α)结合形成低亲和力的二元复合物，募集IL-18β形成高亲和力复合物，导致NF-kB和MAP激酶途径的激活。IL-18可与IL-12协同诱导T-辅助性细胞和自然杀伤细胞的干扰素-γ合成。
