甾体生成因子-1（SF-1）调节参与肾上腺和性腺发育的多个基因，并参与多种激素的生物合成，包括肾上腺和性腺类固醇、抗苗勒管激素（AMH）和促性腺激素。SF-1属于孤儿核受体Fushi Tarazu因子-1（FTZ-F1）亚家族。在成人卵巢中，SF-1定位于膜/间质细胞。
