General description
Vegetable Peptone Agar with LTHThio- ICR+ is designed for the determination of the total microbial aerobic count on dry, sanitized surfaces and personnel in Isolators and Clean rooms. The formulation of the basic medium is prepared based on the recommendations of the current European, Japanese and United States Pharmacopoeia for Soybean Digest Agar, but contains peptones of non-animal origin only. It is supplemented with pyruvate to provide an efficient neutralization of the residues of hydrogen peroxide and with Lecithin, Tween®, Histidine, and sodium thiosulfate to inactivate potential residues of disinfectants. In addition, the plate model (plus or “+”) comes with a lockable lid for safe transport after sampling without the risk of losing it. The plates should be locked in the “CLOSED” position for aerobic incubation and the “VENT” position for anaerobic or microaerophilic incubation.
Application
Vegetable Peptone Agar with LTHThio- ICR+ is a complex medium for the cultivation and isolation of a wide range of bacteria, yeasts, and molds. The media finds its application in environmental monitoring by determining the total microbial aerobic count on dry, sanitized surfaces and personnel in Isolators and Clean Rooms.
