General description
BLR是BL21的recA-衍生物，可提高质粒单体产量，并有助于稳定含有重复序列，或其产物可能导致DE3原噬菌体丢失的靶质粒（1,2）。
DE3表明宿主是λDE3的溶酶原，因此携带一个由lacUV5启动子控制的T7 RNA聚合酶基因的染色体拷贝。这些菌株适合于通过IPTG诱导从pET载体中克隆的靶基因生产蛋白质。
