BL21（DE3）是一种化学感受态大肠埃希菌细胞，适用于使用T7 RNA聚合酶IPTG诱导系统进行转化和高水平蛋白质表达。
将DNA质粒转化为大肠埃希菌的常用方法是使用化学感受态细胞。尽管可以在实验室中制备感受态细胞，但使用Novagen制备的感受态细胞可获得更高的效率、重现性和便利性。Novagen® Singles感受态细胞是为质粒转化的方便性和可靠性而设计的。采用优化方法制备化学感受态细胞。细胞容积为50 µl，无需等分、冷冻/解冻或浪费部分使用的小瓶，节省时间和金钱，并确保可靠的细胞性能。使用时，只需解冻，添加DNA，在冰上孵育5分钟，热冲击30秒，在冰上放置2分钟，然后添加SOC培养基。如（DE3）所示，
