General description

神经丝是中间丝的一种，是支持轴突细胞质的细胞骨架的主要成分。它们是轴突中最丰富的纤维成分，在平均值上的频率是轴突微管的3-10倍。神经丝（直径10nm）由三个相互缠绕的原纤维构建而成，原纤维本身由单体蛋白质的两个四聚体原丝复合物组成。神经丝三联体蛋白（68/70、160和200 kDa）同时存在于中枢和外周神经系统中，通常是神经元特异性的。68/70 kDa NF-L蛋白可以自组装成丝状结构，但是160 kDa NF-M和200 kDa NF-H蛋白需要68/70 kDa NF-L蛋白的存在才能共同组装。各种神经瘤，神经节神经瘤，神经节神经胶质瘤，神经节神经母细胞瘤和神经母细胞瘤的神经丝染色呈阳性。尽管通常仅限于神经元，但已在副神经节瘤以及肾上腺和肾上腺外嗜铬细胞瘤中检测到神经丝。类癌，皮肤神经内分泌癌和肺燕麦细胞癌也表达神经丝。
