General description

~46 kDa
色素上皮衍生因子(PEDF)首先被鉴定为在培养的胎儿视网膜色素上皮(RPE)细胞的条件培养基中分泌的50 kDa蛋白(Tombran-Tink,1991)。最近,发现PEDF在体内视网膜中具有神经营养活性(Cayouette,1999)。PEDF也是其他系统中的神经营养和神经保护因子,包括培养的小脑颗粒细胞、原代海马神经元、脊髓运动神经元和在没有RPE细胞的情况下培养的两栖动物感光细胞(Karakousis,2001)。PEDF与视网膜母细胞瘤和小脑颗粒细胞的结合可能是受体介导的。最近,PEDF在内皮细胞培养物中以及在大鼠角膜和体内视网膜中被证明是一种有效的血管生成抑制剂(Dawson,1999;Stellmach,2001)。

Immunogen
