Biochem/physiol Actions

β/A4淀粉样前体蛋白（APP）可发生蛋白水解裂解，并产生β/A4肽。在脑皮层实质和脑膜血管中观察到这种肽的细胞外沉积物，这标志着阿尔茨海默病的病理状态。′APP基因突变可导致早发性阿尔茨海默病和遗传性脑出血伴淀粉样变。′
抗APP A4抗体与pre-A4反应，并识别pre-A4分子N-末端氨基酸66-81（Hilbich 等，1993）。 22C11识别APP的全部三种亚型，未成熟~110kDa，sAPP~120kDa，成熟~130kDa（Hoffmann et al.，2000）。抗APP A4抗体可与APLP2发生交叉反应（Slunt，1994）。

General description

β/A4淀粉样前体蛋白（APP）是一种跨膜糖蛋白，存在三种亚型。这种蛋白由一个单通路跨膜结构域、一个大的细胞外N末端结构域和一个短的细胞质C末端尾部组成。APP基因位于人染色体21q21.3-q22。
