General description

视紫红质是属于G蛋白偶联受体1家族的多通道G蛋白偶联膜受体蛋白。视紫红质在视杆细胞中发现,被光子激活,以使视觉转导级联初始化。视紫红质对于在弱光下形成图像以及出生后感光细胞的生存能力是必需的。视紫红质表达的突变是人类疾病色素性视网膜炎(RP)的最广为人知的原因,导致视力逐渐丧失。目前,已知的视紫红质突变超过100种。
预期在~39 kDa处
