General description

Microcystin is a type of toxin which can adversely affect human health. It is released by cyanobacteria and is commonly found in fresh water sources.

Application

[D-Asp³, E-Dhb₇]-Microcystin-RR may be used as an analytical standard for the determination of the analyte in:

Raw water and drinking water samples by ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS).
Water samples, Planktothrix cultures and European crayfish by LC-MS.
