General description
One tablet is sufficient for 500mL
Application
A solution that maintains the osmotic balance for bacteria. Used for the preparation of suspension of samples and for use as a diluent in dilution techniques for enumeration. Also used in the microbial control of apparatus by the rinse and swab method.

- in inoculum preparation from mid and hind gut samples
- to rinse the corneal surface to demonstrate the integrity of the corneal epithelium by fluorescein sodium staining
- to wash the discs in antimicrobial bioassay of lignin compounds
- to soak the gauze, to keep the spinal cord well saturated
Preparation Note
Dissolve 1 tablet in 500 ml of deionised water.
