葡聚糖(Dextran)是分子量≥1,000道尔顿的多糖,有一条α-D-吡喃葡萄糖基重复单元连接的线型主链。 葡聚糖是细菌胞外多糖。由肠膜明串珠菌通过蔗糖合成。细菌利用葡聚糖形成生物膜,在病原菌中则以其为保护膜避免接触宿主噬菌细胞。

应用

葡聚糖被用于许多应用,如作为血小板凝集剂、血浆增容剂、渗透压调节剂、稳定剂、器官分离介质、基质组分、共聚物、微载体、粘合剂、粘度调节剂、抗血栓形成剂、润滑剂和物理结构组分。肠膜明串珠菌来源的葡聚糖(分子量:670,000)可作为分析标准品,用于校准凝胶渗透色谱 (GPC) 的色谱柱。搭配0.9%氯化钠可从血液中沉淀红细胞。

使用葡聚糖作为长亲水性间隔臂可改善作用于大分子的固定化蛋白的性能。
