Sodium (Na) standard solution

Sodium (Na) standard solution standard reference material (SRM) is intended for use as a primary calibration standard for the quantitative determination of sodium.

• Available with a certified mass fraction value for sodium.
•   Certified value is based on; 

1. Gravimetric preparation using high-purity sodium chloride. 

2. Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) calibrated using four primary standards independently prepared from high-purity sodium chloride. 

• Certified value is metrologically traceable to the International System of Units (SI) derived unit for mass fraction, expressed as milligrams per gram.   
• The NIST certificate is provided with storage, handling, and use instructions.

The SRM 3152A unit consists of 50 mL of an aqueous sodium solution in a high-density polyethylene bottle, sealed in an aluminized bag. The solution was prepared gravimetrically to contain a known mass fraction of sodium in nitric acid at a mass fraction of 5 %.
