General description

ATG4B（自噬相关4B半胱氨酸肽酶）是酵母Atg4的哺乳动物直系同源物，它是一种半胱氨酸蛋白酶。它在人和大鼠组织中广泛表达，在大脑中含量最高。该基因定位于人染色体2q37。
ATG4B是通过自噬参与细胞降解的半胱氨酸蛋白酶C-54家族的一员。

Immunogen

对应于人ATG4B第6-22个氨基酸的合成肽，通过C-末端的半胱氨酸残基与KLH发生偶联。相应的序列在小鼠中是相同的。

Biochem/physiol Actions

ATG4B（自噬相关4B半胱氨酸肽酶）参与哺乳动物凋亡的调节。它还参与轻链3 (LC3)的脂质化。ATG4B负责处理哺乳动物Atg8的同源物：16 kDa高尔基体相关ATPase增强子（GATE16）、γ-氨基丁酸 A型受体相关蛋白（GABARAP）和LC3。它在合成后立即去除proLC3的羧基末端区域，从而生成可溶性LC3-1，并暴露出羧基末端Gly。
