We have not tested A3059 for specific use in ELISA. However, A3059 is considered to be essentially gamma-globulin free, which makes this more potentially useful in ELISA, by reducing a potential source of background.
Is Product A3059, Albumin from bovine serum (BSA), suitable for use as a blocking agent in immunoblotting?
We have not tested A3059 for specific use in immunoblotting as a blocking agent, in quality control. However, A3059 is considered to be essentially gamma-globulin free, which makes this more potentially useful in blotting experiments, by reducing a potential source of background. The Technical Bulletin states that "Globulin free albumins are suitable for use in applications where no other proteins should be present".
What is the fatty acid content of Product A3059, Albumin from bovine serum (BSA)? Can it be considered fatty acid free?
The fatty acid content of A3059 is not tested in quality control, and it is not reported on our Certificate of Analysis. We would not refer to this product as "fatty acid free".
