This cell line is an Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) transformed lymphoblastoid line and is part of the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Typed Collection maintained by the European Collection of Cell Cultures (ECACC). HLA-Typing Data is available for this cell line.
Preparation Note
RPMI 1640 (R0883) + 2mM Glutamine (G7513) + 20% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) (F2442). Once a growing culture is established the FBS concentration can be reduced to 10%.
Maintain cultures between 3x105 - 2x106 cells/ml, 5% CO2, 37 °C. Upon resuscitation remove cryoprotectant - centrifuge at 300 x g for 5 minutes and re-suspend the cell pellet in fresh culture medium.
Other Notes
Cultures from HPA Culture Collections and supplied by Sigma are for research purposes only. Enquiries regarding the commercial use of a cell line are referred to the depositor of the cell line. Some cell lines have additional special release conditions such as the requirement for a material transfer agreement to be completed by the potential recipient prior to the supply of the cell line. Please view the Terms & Conditions of Supply for more information.

This cell line is part of the European Collection of Authenticated Cell Cultures (ECACC), an international repository managed by the United Kingdom Health Security Agency (UKHSA). Only the genomic DNA extracted from the cell line is available for purchase by commercial organizations, and not the cell line itself. No licensing agreement is required when the DNA extracted from this cell line are used for internal research purposes only. Frozen cell cultures can be supplied only to academic and not-for-profit organisations. Any other use of these products is prohibited without the express written permission of UKHSA. Inquiries regarding other authorized use of this cell line or its genomic DNA may be directed to culturecollections@ukhsa.gov.uk.
