Biochem/physiol Actions
GSDMD（gasdermin D）已显示可在上皮细胞凋亡的调节中发挥作用。GSDMD在分化细胞中表达。它可以作为肿瘤抑制因子。
在对GSDMD siRNA敲除或GSDMD敲除（人类HeLa细胞和iBMDM小鼠细胞）进行的研究中，Gasdermin D（GSDMD）的缺失可完全阻断LPS电穿孔触发的焦磷酸化。也有报道表明，caspase-4/11可在Asp275后特异性切割GSDMD，使得gasdermin-N结构域具有内在的热解诱导作用。此外，GSMDD介导的细胞凋亡能够在不影响白介素1β （IL-1β）成熟过程的情况下，参与成熟IL-1的释放。
