NUDCD3 (NudC domain containing 3) highly involved in the cytokinesis. It helps to form dense midbody matrix, which is further essential for the last stage of cytokinesis, abscission of two daughter cells. It also plays a vital role during mitotic cell division by stabilizing the dynein complex. It has been reported that appropriate level of NUDCD3 is crucial for proper cell proliferation. Its overexpression in the cell shows inhibited cell proliferation with defects like formation of multipolar spindle and lagging chromosomes.
