General description
免疫球蛋白（Ig）属于免疫球蛋白超家族（IgSF）。Ig一般由两条重（H）链和两条轻（L）链组成。轻链可以是κ或λ链。每条链包含一个NH2末端“可变”（V）区和一个或多个COOH末端“恒定”（C）区。每个区都由两个通过二硫键′固定′起来的夹心式β折叠片组成。根据重链C结构域Ig主要有五种，分别是IgM、IgG、IgA、IgD和IgE同种型。IgG可以分为四个亚类：IgG1、IgG2、IgG3和IgG4。每个亚类都有不同的生物特性。

Biochem/physiol Actions
IgG抗体亚型是免疫系统中最丰富的血清免疫球蛋白。它由B细胞分泌，存在于血液和细胞外液中，可防止细菌、真菌和病毒引起的感染。母体IgG可通过胎盘转移至胎儿，胎盘对新生儿免疫防御感染至关重要。
免疫球蛋白G（IgG）由木瓜蛋白酶消化，并产生两个可结合抗原的Fab片段和一个Fc片段。IgG由胃蛋白酶裂解成一个Fc片段和一个可以交联并结合抗原的二聚体F（ab）2。
